Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kansas City (MO) Alumnae Chapter and the Foundation for Delta Educational and Economic Development (DEED) presented its Cotillion 2020 Talent Showcase on March 1, at the University of Missouri, Kansas City’s Student Union Theater.

The superlative talent showcase featured an array of talent that included original spoken word, instrumental music, baton twirling, singing, martial arts, digital media technology, and dance.

The emcee for the show was the very talented Jordan Fortune, a Central High School senior who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening with animated and positive dialogue. The talent showcase coordinators were Demicco Witherspoon and LaKesha Wooten. Judges for the event were:

Larry W. Newby II (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.), Kami Woodard (Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.), and Brian Edwards (Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.). The DJ was Mis-Understood and the Cotillion 2020 Envoys were stage hands for the event. The winners were:

1st Place – William Pollard, III – percussion (Total Praise); 2nd Place Tie – Cameron Fields – dance (Fine China) and Nia Daniels – original spoken word (Dear Nia); and 3rd Place –

Mekhira Taylor – solo (My Mind). The talent showcase was another opportunity for the Cotillion Participants to demonstrate their versatility, creativity, and talent as they move forward on their quest for future success.
